About the school

My name is Alysha Scott, and I am the proud principal of Chicago Ombudsman West located at 3210 W Roosevelt Road, Chicago, IL 60624. I started at Ombudsman in 2023 as the Assistant Principal and have not only learned what it means to be a leader but have grown personally throughout my experiences at Ombudsman as well. The growth that I have experienced is the same type of growth I want to see in every student that comes to the West campus. My passion for education stimmed from seeing the systematic differences between education provided in rural/suburban versus urban demographics. It was through that passion that I pursued higher education to obtain my master’s in educational leadership and Family and Human Development with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology. I am committed to seeing young scholars, the future of our country, be individuals that have the skills and confidence they need to navigate this ever-changing world. I wholeheartedly believe that every student deserves the opportunity to discover and showcase their own passions in life, and that it is my privilege to help them along the way.
